I’ve been incredibly busy for the last 2 weeks so I haven’t had the chance to update the blog. In half term we managed to get away to France for a few days. We were blessed with 2 very calm crossings and on the whole the weather was kind, apart from one very wet day. We stayed in Cabourg, which delighted us with its late C19 charm. We could imagine Victorian ladies strolling along the prom in their long dresses.
Cabourg
We spent a couple of days visiting the Normandy beaches and associated sites, Arramanches, the Merville and the Grand Bunker in Ouistreham. But we also indulged in some medieval history including, of course, the Bayeux Tapestry. Particular delights were the old market in Dives and the charming village of Beurvron-en-Auge.
