Another look at the dragon

The reason this blog has been so quiet recently is the huge amount of work I have been doing. Worried about getting it all done in the time without developing RSI I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out Dragon Naturally Speaking in a real job. It worked very well but I am not convinced that it was any faster than my own typing. I think it changed the way I translated, perhaps resulting in a more natural style, I’m not sure. I did have to wait for it to catch up quite often. There were also more typos and punctuation errors requiring post-editing than texts typed by me. Speed is not the objective for me. Like many things accuracy would improve with time. I think this will be a viable solution for times when the wrists are painful.
